DARBHANGA🇮🇳 Darbhanga district was formed on 1 January 185. Darbhanga is situated in 25.63 - 25′.27 North and 85.80 - 7.25 in the East. It has Madhubani in the north, Samastipur in the south, Saharsa in the east and Sitamarhi and Muzaffarpur districts in the west. The geographical area of this district is 2249.929 kilometers. Presently this district is divided into 18 blocks / zones under three subdivisions. According to Vedic sources, the Videha branch of the Aryans traveled from the Saraswati coast towards Sadanira (Gandak) in the east under the protection of fire and established the Videha kingdom. In the name of King Mithi of Videha, this region came to be called Mithila. In the Ramayana period, a king of Mithila who was called Janaka was the daughter of Sirdhvaj Janaka.
